The Production Notification (PN) service allows Hong Kong manufacturers and sub-contractors to make the required notification to Trade and Industry Department before commencing the production of restrained textile products.

This service allows Hong Kong manufacturers and/or their sub-contractors who hold a Factory Registration with Trade and Industry Department to prepare, sign and submit their Production Notifications directly from a standard office PC. The PNs can also be amended, resubmitted, cancelled or extended in validity electronically, wherever this is permitted under Trade and Industry Department rules.

An important change in procedure when using electronic PN is that there will no longer be the need for an approved paper copy of the PN to be collected and retained. The manufacturer will simply be informed by electronic message once Trade and Industry Department has accepted the Notification, and will be given a PN reference number.
