WMS/TMS solution for a fresh food market operator to be deployed at their first-in-Hong Kong automated cold storage warehouse

Expanding our presence in the cold chain logistics industry, we are delighted to receive an order for our Warehouse Management System (WMS)/Transportation Management System (TMS) from a customer whose business is to renovate, manage and operate fresh food markets in Hong Kong.

In this project, we are engaged in a new collaboration model in which we would work together with a renowned hardware vendor appointed by the client to develop an automated warehousing solution. The solution will be deployed at the client’s cold storage warehouse, which is going to be the first automated cold storage warehouse in Hong Kong. We will help our client design and implement on our WMS the inbound/outbound warehouse workflow to meet the storage requirements (e.g. temperature and humidity) of different fresh food items. Our WMS will also act as the mastermind to orchestrate the operations of the automated material handling equipment provided by the hardware vendor to perform goods-to-man picking for enhanced productivity. As for the TMS module, we will provide intelligent fleet routing and scheduling capabilities powered by AI and Big Data to support our client’s day-to-day distribution operations.

The development work of the project is now underway and is expected to be completed before 2023. We are pleased to earn another solid customer reference which again demonstrates the compatibility and flexibility of our solutions in working alongside with different automated equipment vendors.

Deployment of WMS solution for an equipment warehouse of a telecoms giant supporting the routine maintenance of their 5G facilities

As the flagship product of our supply chain solutions business, our Warehouse Management System (WMS) continues to gain recognition and earn the trust of big-name clients in the market. One such client was a major telecommunication service provider who deployed our WMS solution at their equipment warehouse supporting the routine maintenance of their 5G facilities around Hong Kong.

With our cloud-based WMS, together with mobile applications and handheld devices, our solution helps our client digitalize the end-to-end management and operations of their equipment warehouse for carrying out the routine maintenance of their 5G network and facilities. With integration to the client’s backend system as well as that of their equipment supplier, our WMS connects both internal and external users of the warehouse to achieve real-time sharing of warehouse information such as inventory status. For better control of warehouse operations, in particular those high value inventory items, a digital workflow is implemented as part of the project so that each and every inbound/outbound order will be recorded with the requisite levels of approvals. Our solution helps our client streamline tedious workflows and significantly enhance the visibility and productivity of the warehouse.

While some extension work is still underway, we will explore the possibility of further collaboration with the client in other areas of their supply chain to support their fast-growing 5G network business. On the other hand, having gained the practical experience in designing solution for an equipment storage warehouse, we are looking for opportunity to replicate our solutions for new customers with similar business and operation needs.

Proof-of-concept project for a statutory body as part of a new initiative on identity authentication

While a number of projects in the banking and finance industry being put on hold amid the fifth wave of the pandemic, our Identity Management business successfully expanded its customer base with new orders secured from the government and public sectors in the first half of 2022. One such order was from a statutory body for a project involving a proof-of-concept (PoC) as part of a new initiative on identity authentication.

In the project, we will help our client implement a PoC to demonstrate the feasibility of leveraging digital signature based on Public Key Infrastructure to validate whether a document (e.g. consent, instruction) has been signed by an individual properly authorized by an organization to act on its behalf. Unlike traditional paper-based identity authentication process which requires handwritten signature verification, the PoC aims to demonstrate how a corporate could be digitally identified and allowed to authorize its designated staff, and make subsequent changes to such authorization through a digital authentication process so that the authorized designated staff could provide, amend and revoke a digital consent / instruction on behalf of the corporate.

The PoC project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2022 or early 2023. We are excited to play a role in the development of the initiative and look forward to further possible collaborations.
