On 11 June 2026, Tradelink participated in the Asia-Pacific Trade Facilitation Forum (APTFF) x Paperless Trade Week 2026, held at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok, Thailand. Under the theme “AI in Digital Trade Agreements Involving GMS Economies: From Negotiation to Regulation to Application”, Tradelink joined a professional panel of global specialists to discuss the readiness framework for implementing digital trade agreements in Asia and the Pacific, which helps developing member countries enhance their capacity to adopt and apply digital trade and e-commerce provisions.
Mr. Andrew Cheng, Executive Director and Chief Operations Officer of Tradelink, served as the panel’s technical and private sector representative. He was joined by Mr. Alexey Kravchenko, Economic Affairs Officer, UNESCAP and Mr. Jonathan Koh, Managing Director, Trade Facilitation Pte Ltd (TFPL). Drawing on Tradelink’s more than three decades of leadership in trade facilitation, Andrew demonstrated how the Company is actively bridging policies with real-world applications:
- Operationalising Document Intelligence: Andrew highlighted how Tradelink’s E-Trade (T+) platform leverage AI for automated error detection and intelligent HS code classification, empowering SMEs potentials.
- Accelerating SME Trade Finance: He explained how Tradelink utilises AI-powered credit scoring and integrates with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority Commercial Data Interchange to unlock faster and fairer SME trade financing.
- Framework for Trusted AI: He emphasised that AI in trade must be Explainable (every classification and recommendation backed by legal reasoning), Controllable (a human-in-the-loop design), and Professional (connected to one platform including government, banks and more).
