Tradelink was honoured to participate in the CargoX Solution Day hosted by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) on 5 October 2026. Under the theme “From local to regional trade data connectivity: shaping the future of trade finance through innovative CargoX pilots”, the event brought together over 300 industry participants across banks, cargo logistics and trade data providers, government bodies, and Commercial Data Interchange (CDI) partner organisations to explore data-driven advancements in trade finance.
As a founding member of the PAA Digital Trade Alliance (PAA), Tradelink is profoundly encouraged by the formal signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the HKMA and PAA during the event. Executed by Mr. Howard Lee, Deputy Chief Executive of the HKMA, and Tan Sri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir, Chairman of PAA, the MoU establishes a collaborative framework to enhance cargo and trade data connectivity between Hong Kong and PAA member economies across 15 economies, including ASEAN member states. This milestone represents a significant step forward in fostering cross-border data collaboration and advancing regional trade digitalisation.
Mr. Tommy Yuen, S.B.S., Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of Tradelink, participated in the first panel discussion, “Connectivity: Turning Regional Trade Data into Financing Power”. During the discussion, Mr. Yuen highlighted that with evolving regional trade patterns and the rapid expansion of trade corridors such as ASEAN, strengthening cross-border data connectivity is vital to reinforcing Hong Kong’s strategic advantage as a leading trade and financing hub. He noted that reliable and interoperable trade data enables financial institutions to assess transactions with greater visibility and confidence, bridging information gaps across increasingly complex supply chains. In line with this vision, Mr. Yuen shared that Tradelink, as an established data provider connected to the HKMA’s Commercial Data Interchange (CDI), has been commissioned by the HKMA to manage and deliver the ASEAN Proof-of-Concept (PoC) pilot project under the CargoX Pilot Programme. In this coordination role, Tradelink collaborates with ASEAN data partners, PAA members, and participating Hong Kong banks to facilitate trusted trade data flows and support data-driven trade finance innovation.
