Tradelink Hosts Mainland Delegation to Explore Cross-Border Trade Data Interconnection and Smart Trade Finance Opportunities

Tradelink welcomed a senior enterprise delegation to its Hong Kong office on 7 August 2026, to explore innovative strategies for leveraging trade data to advance data-driven trade finance.

The delegation comprised executive representatives from:

  • China Shulian Logistics Information Co., Ltd.
  • Shanghai E&P International, Inc.
  • China Huaxin Post and Telecom Technologies Co., Ltd.

During the visit, Tradelink showcased its active participation in the Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s Commercial Data Interchange (CDI) and Project Cargox. Addressing a major industry challenge—where commercial banks possess strong domestic trade data but lack visibility over overseas counterparties, cargo status, and physical execution in cross-border trade—the meeting explored strategies to bridge this gap by leveraging trusted cross-border data to increase supply chain transparency, ultimately enabling more optimised financing decisions.

To support this objective, the parties discussed initial concepts and frameworks for Shanghai-Hong Kong and ASEAN Data Interconnection, exploring how the collaboration between Tradelink and PAA Digital Trade Alliance members can drive future cross-border data flows and strengthen trade finance collaboration across regional supply chains.

Looking ahead, Tradelink looks forward to continuing the dialogue on how seamless trade data integration can further facilitate and empower regional trade.
