Tradelink was pleased to host a Vietnam financial infrastructure delegation at its Hong Kong headquarters on Friday, 23 October 2026. The visit featured an in-depth roundtable discussion on Hong Kong’s Commercial Data Interchange (CDI) ecosystem and its practical applications in supporting SME trade financing.
The visiting delegation comprised representatives from the Ministry of Finance of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and the State Bank of Viet Nam, alongside participants from the International Finance Corporation and Transino. Representatives from Tradelink, Dun & Bradstreet (HK) Ltd, and the banking sector joined the discussion to share experiences, exchange views on financial data infrastructure development, and explore opportunities for future collaboration. Participants recognised the strong trade relationship between Vietnam and Hong Kong and discussed ways to deepen exchanges and pursue innovative collaboration in support of cross-border digital trade and finance.
During the session, participants exchanged practical insights on secure sharing of trade declaration and logistics data with business consent, and on how commercial credit information and analytics can support SME credit assessment. Discussions also encompassed cross-border opportunities under Project Cargox and a range of practical use cases, including trade verification, counterparty due diligence and fraud risk management. Through the exchange, participants explored how trusted data-sharing frameworks can unlock greater value from commercial data, foster innovative financial applications, and strengthen trust and security across the ecosystem.
The roundtable session further examined critical institutional topics, including data-sharing consent mechanisms, data governance frameworks, and participation incentives for ecosystem stakeholders. Participants also discussed developments in Vietnam’s financial data infrastructure and explored potential areas of Vietnam-Hong Kong collaboration in digital trade finance.
Tradelink remains committed to fostering trusted financial data connectivity, leveraging its established infrastructure and operational expertise to support cross-border digital trade finance, facilitate greater collaboration across markets and empower SMEs throughout the region.
