Background

Eddid Financial, a leading financial services provider with a strong focus on global markets, has been at the forefront of delivering innovative investment solutions to overseas investors. With a mission to simplify cross-border investments, Eddid Financial sought a secure and efficient way to onboard international clients while adhering to stringent regulatory requirements.

Objectives

Confronting intense competition from industry peers and increasingly stringent regulatory requirements, Eddid Financial aims to leverage compliance solutions for expansion.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to the circular1 issued by Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) in May 2025, which allows intermediaries to leverage the Personal (Remote) ID-Cert Class 12, issued by Digi-Sign Certification Services Limited2 (Digi-Sign), for remote onboarding of overseas investors holding ICAO-compliant ePassports.
  • Remote Verification: Address the challenge of verifying the identities of overseas investors remotely.
  • Efficiency: Streamline the time-consuming onboarding process that previously required physical presence or extensive paperwork, hindering scalability.
  • Security Concerns: Safeguard sensitive investor data during remote onboarding.
  • Integration: Implement a new solution without disrupting Eddid Financial’s existing systems and workflows.

Our Solution

Tradelink enables Eddid Financial’s overseas customers to apply for iD-One, a trusted digital identity supported by Personal (Remote) ID-Cert Class 12 issued by Digi-Sign, allowing Eddid Financial to remotely verify the identities of overseas investors with ICAO-compliant ePassports.
